On December 8th, a team of Setterians donned their reindeer antlers and elf hats to welcome the Lawrence Park neighbourhood to its first Santa’s Workshop. The event—hosted in partnership with Children’s Forest and Ridley Orchard School—was a family affair for everyone to enjoy.
Girls and boys of all ages were invited to decorate holiday crafts, play festive games, and say hello to Pom Pom Chewy while they waited to meet Santa Claus.
With hot chocolate flowing and holiday tunes playing, it was a merry-filled morning. No one was happier though than Carol Sheardown, the Co-Founder and Director of Dekpor School Development Organisation (DSDO).
With the generous support of all the families that attended Setter’s Santa Workshop, the Lawrence Park neighbourhood raised $680 for DSDO, which supports the students, teachers, and the community of a rural village in Ghana called Dekpor.
The funds raised from this event will be going towards sending educational supplies, toys, and clothing that Children’s Forest and Ridley Orchard are collecting for the children and educators in Dekpor.
If you are interested in lending a helping hand this holiday season, let your reach be felt at home and abroad by donating to Dekpor School Development Organisation by visiting their website or making a donation to Children’s Forest and Ridley Orchard’s donation drive at 100 Old Orchard Grove. They are collecting school supplies, children’s toys, and clothing until January 2019.
